After much consideration for the wellbeing of our participants during the current public health crisis, we believe it is unlikely that our international community will be able to safely convene in McLean, Virginia, this November.
Accordingly, we have made the difficult decision to hold the 7th International Symposium on Focused Ultrasound as a virtual event.
Over the past 12 years, the Symposium has become a crucial event for the focused ultrasound community, serving as a venue to share knowledge and foster collaboration. We are dedicated to achieving these two important goals during this year’s virtual meeting. With the help of technology, we will be able to share the latest research in focused ultrasound effectively. While admittedly it will be more of a challenge to create and foster relationships virtually, we are actively pursuing ideas to help maintain a sense of community among participants.
We are preparing to host the same level of plenary sessions, panel discussions, poster presentations, and technical exhibits that we have all enjoyed in previous years, all in a virtual format. It is our hope that by eliminating the need for travel, we will be able to broaden our audience beyond those who may have attended in person. In order to allow for this open exchange of knowledge, we will offer the virtual Symposium at no cost.
The virtual Symposium is scheduled to take place November 9-13, 2020 as originally planned, though specific dates are subject to change. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
We look forward to welcoming stakeholders around the world to participate in a new era of the world’s leading forum for sharing the latest translational and clinical advances in focused ultrasound.
