COVID-19 and Cancellation Policies
The Focused Ultrasound Foundation is committed to the safety of our in-person event attendees. The COVID-19 environment and guidance remains in a constant state of change. Our event will follow hotel, Maryland state, and federal guidelines at the time of the event. We hope to see you in person!
Refund requests for the 2022 conference must be made in writing to the Focused Ultrasound Foundation (FUSF) on or before 23 September 2022. A 75% refund of the Symposium registration fees shall be given for cancellations received on or before 23 September 2022. No refunds shall be made after 23 September 2022. No refunds shall be made to individuals who attend a portion of the Symposium. No refunds shall be made for cancellations due to inclement weather. FUSF reserves the right to substitute panelists, moderators, or cancel or reschedule sessions due to unforeseen circumstances. If FUSF must cancel the conference in its entirety due to circumstances beyond the control of FUSF (including but not limited to, forces of nature, war, terrorism, failure of transportation, weather, accidents, fires, electrical failures, internet failures, strikes, labor disputes, postal delays, explosions, and government orders or regulations), FUSF may refund the appropriate registration fees to Symposium registrants; no refunds shall be made for travel expenses related to the Symposium. Attendees who purchase non-refundable airline tickets do so at their own risk. FUSF encourages the purchase of travel insurance. FUSF encourages attendee substitution as an alternative to cancellation (see below).
Refunds in case of Emergency
If a registrant is unable to attend the Symposium due to serious illness (or due to the death of a family member), a partial refund (amount paid minus a $55 processing charge) may be granted. Requestors shall submit the request in writing to FUSF. FUSF shall review the request to ensure it is in accordance with written policy. No refunds shall be granted for cancelled or missed flights and/or inclement weather.
If you find that you are unable to attend the Symposium, you are welcome to send a colleague in your place. There is no fee to make this change on or before 23 September 2022. Registration substitutions after 23 September 2022 shall be charged a $55.00 processing fee. You must contact FUSF at email@example.com to make a substitution and provide new attendee information.
Change of Registration Type for Hybrid Conference
Registration may be changed from in-person to virtual, or vice versa, on or before 23 September 2022. If changing registration type, the difference in registration will be charged or refunded, as appropriate, with a $55 processing charge. No changes to registration type may be made after 23 September 2022. If you need to change your registration type, please notify FUSF at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible, on or before the deadline.
